I woke up feeling like a Stay-Puft Marshmallow Man

Ok, if you have never felt this way, you can stop reading this article now. But if you ever felt this way, read along…

A few days ago I woke up feeling as big as the Stay-Puft Marshmallow Man in the Ghostbusters movie, which in my world it reflects as NOT feeling beautiful, uncomfortable in my body, cranky and complaining about the little things I usually don’t care, for example, that my husband Rob put strawberries in an unsealed green bag and make a big deal of it.

Am I the only one?

When I feel like this, I first fall into denial, thinking that this is not really happening. As the day goes on, I start noticing how my mind is not present, I can’t focus, I start procrastinating staring at the computer and nothing gets done.

When I don’t feel BEAUTIFUL, I feel uninspired and like I am not myself, and I notice how much more energy I need in order to get things done in my day, to end up getting even more cranky and pushing harder.

That puts me in a place of not wanting to be seen, insecure and the video series I am planning on launching is taking longer than I thought…

Can you identify with this?

This is what I did to get out of my of Stay-Puft Marshmallow Man phase:

I allowed myself to be: I over exaggerated the feeling, literally, I started walking like the Marshmallow Man. I even puffed out my cheeks and started walking around the house. It sounds almost ridiculous, and that was the point. To see that the feeling was a feeling and not a reality.

I allowed time to laugh: I went to the theatre room in our apartment building (getting out of the house is key in this situations) and watch a comedy, a silly one and laughed out loud (LOL)

I allowed beauty sleep: I went to bed earlier and made sure to get a good night sleep.

I woke up the next morning feeling completely renewed and excited to actually share this article with you. The best part? I felt like myself again and now I can hear that my body needed me to take a break and dedicate time for some beauty sleep.

As I allowed this time to rest, I woke up feeling inspired and full of creative ideas for what is coming in May in my business. I want to invite you to try connecting with your beauty in the way I mentioned above or in any way that inspires you and has you feel beautiful.

I would love to hear if you ever had a Stay-Puft Marshmellow Man moment and what you did about it.
