Are you proud to be a woman?

The other night I attended an event in Soho NYC. It was at this gorgeous store called Josefinas, a Portuguese brand that was born from a woman’s dream.

#proudtobeawoman was the name of the event and my friend and colleague Joanna Green, who is a healer and a coach dedicated to connecting women back to their Divinity was the speaker.

Joanna started the talk by sharing the need for women to listen to men and men to listen to women and how healing it is when we can speak about what we never shared with one another.

One man stood up and shared with the other men in the room to become conscious about what they think and to who they look up to. He even mentioned his commitment to study as many influential women as possible as he recognizes that most examples they’ve received came from men and how powerful it could be to also study women to see what they can learn from them as well.

To the women he said sorry. Not just for himself but from generations of men who sometimes consciously and sometimes unconsciously suppressed women.

I could feel my heart and the hearts of all the women in the audience beautifully open up.

Then another man immediately asked a powerful question to women: “What would women like from us men?”

Right there was a perfect example of how men are truly eager to show up for the feminine when we are open.

What he was really saying was: “How can we serve you? How can we be there for you? What would make you happy?”

This is what most of us women can’t hear when we are too much in our masculine.

I NEVER learned this growing up. In fact, I learned the opposite, that women are here to serve the men. Which caused me so much pain and resentment in most of my relationships until I did the work to heal it.

If you are like I was, you are probably afraid to share from your heart what you really want because of fear of not receiving it. You think that you are going to be judged or hurt someone and even be rejected because this is what happened in the past every time you spoke up.

You might even think that if you ask for what you want, you will be taking from others.

When we drop the walls and we open our hearts, the truth shows up, which means that men want to please women. Period.

No allowing ourselves to open up and connect at our most intimate level of our femininity affects everything and everyone in our lives. It affects…

Our capacity to experience deep love, to share it with others and from there to co-create our most beautiful life.

Our capacity to receive abundantly and to have our desires come true.

Our capacity to share our gifts with the world without holding back.

Our capacity to feel fulfilled, connected and that we are never alone.

This is what happens when we drop the walls and open our hearts to be real women.

This is what’s available when we release our victim and bitch stories and allow ourselves to be seen for who we are and be heard.

What was brought to the table during this talk was the opportunity to see that in order for women to be proud of being women we require to heal and to come back to our feminine essence.

To allow ourselves to feel safe to open our hearts so that the masculine can show up powerfully and ask the question: “What would you like from us men?”

Most importantly, when we heal and open our hearts we allow ourselves to truly receive.

I don’t do this very often but as so many women have asked me lately what is this “feminine work” really about and then when they experience it their lives transform so quickly, it is my desire that you also have this opportunity to experience this as well…

I am also making space for a baby! Because of this, I soon won’t be offering as many spots for one-on-one work. I tell you this not to rush you. I just want to be completely transparent about my plans for 2017. Let’s move up, open our heart and throw the wall down together.
